How can I tell if my UV light is working?
To test that the UV light is working, press the weight-activated foot on the base. You should see a light blue/green glow emanating inside the base. The handle needs to be docked during this process if this doesn't work, please contact TAO Clean Customer Service at support@taoclean.com for assistance.

To change brush modes, press the smaller button on the brush handle. You should be able to hear/feel the difference in spin speed. The regular cleansing mode spins faster than the sensitive mode, allowing for deeper exfoliation.
How long does the brush take to dry?

The drying time of the brush will take 2-6 hours. Drying time depends on room humidity and how much water remains on the brush head when placed in the base. Brush heads that are shaken off before placed in the base will dry faster.
There is no fan, there is a small heater in the base that warms the air in the chamber near the UV lamp. This creates a chimney effect where the warm air leaves the base around the 1 mm gap between the handle and the base.

Leave the base station plugged in order for the sanitizing, charging, and drying features to work properly. The Germ Shield+® powered UV-C sanitizer sanitizes for 12 minutes once the handle is placed in the base,and then cycles again every 12 hours for 12 minutes. The brush itself will hold a charge for up to two weeks without being docked, but if it doesn’t stay plugged in then the base station is unable to sanitize, dry, or charge your device.

We recommend changing the daily care brush head, on average, every 3 months. The Silicone Brush Head, Exfoliation, and the Body Brush head can be replaced every 6 months.

Yes, a cleanser is necessary. We recommend using your own optimized cleanser. Do not use any that have sharp pieces meant for exfoliating. Place the cleaner on your face first, and then apply the powered brush to your face as outlined in the instruction manual.

Check to make sure the system is properly plugged in, if the base is not lighting up try a different power block or USB port. If the brush cleaner still isn't running, contact customer service.

To power the brush on, simply click the button located at the top center of the device.
You are always able to turn the brush off by holding that same power button down until the brush stops spinning. Also, if the device has been running for more than 3 seconds, a single click of the power button will turn the device off.

If the device has been powered on for less than three seconds, simply press the power button to change speeds.
If the device has been powered on for more than three seconds, press the power button to turn off the device, then click again to power it back on, and finally click the power button one more time within the first three seconds of powering it back on to change cleansing modes. (It's easier than it sounds, we promise!)

In most cases, this should be fairly obvious (since the brush is spinning whenever it is powered on). If you are concerned that your device may not be working properly, however, you can always check the power button's built-in indicator light– if the light is turned on, the device is on.
If pressing the power button does not cause the brush to spin, and the light does not turn on, try plugging your device in using the included USB charging cable and power adapter.
If the power button is lit up and the brush is not spinning, please contact customer support for additional help resolving your issue.

HELP! My hair is stuck?!
One common downside of all orbital facial cleansing brushes is that your hair can get caught in the mechanism (this is why we suggest putting your hair up before you cleanse!).
If this happens to you, keep calm and hold down the power button until the brush has stopped spinning.
Once the brush has stopped spinning, find the hair that is stuck in the brush, and hold it tightly between the root and where the brush is caught, creating some slack between your hand and the root (so you don't feel any tugging at the root). Then, try pulling the brush away.
If this does not dislodge your brush from your hair, carefully remove the brush head from the handle, and pull your hair out from the handle.
Lastly, pour yourself a glass of wine– you earned it.

The pulsing blue light signifies the UV sanitizing cycle for 12 minutes every 12 hours. It turns to a solid white light after that process. If it doesn’t stay plugged in then the Germ Shield+® equipped base station will not be able to sanitize, dry, or charge your toothbrush.

The brush handle is water-resistant, so you can brush your teeth in the shower. We do not recommend submerging it in water.

The white brush heads may change in color because of prolonged exposure to UV light which can happen after about 2 months. Charcoal and other colored toothpastes can stain the brush heads but do not change their effectiveness.

If the UV light isn’t working, make sure that the sanitizer is on a flat, even surface. The sanitizer must be on a flat surface for the safety tab to properly depress. The toothbrush bristles must also be facing the door and the door must be fully shut. If the UV light doesn’t automatically activate, the batteries may be dead.
