How to Use the TAO Clean Germ Shield Travel Sanitizer
This is the TAO Clean Germ Shield Travel Sanitizer.
You may have received it as a free gift with your purchase of the TAO Clean sonic toothbrush.
It’s important to note that the Germ Shield is different from the TAO Clean UV Base.
The Germ Shield is designed specifically for sanitizing your toothbrush while traveling. It does not charge or dry your toothbrush.
Installing the Batteries
Let’s walk through how to set it up and use it.
On the back of the Germ Shield, you’ll find the battery compartment.
To install the batteries:
- Open the battery compartment cover
- Insert two AA batteries
- Make sure the batteries are inserted in the correct direction
- Close the compartment securely
Your Germ Shield is now powered and ready to use.
Sanitizing Your Toothbrush
To sanitize your toothbrush:
- Open the front compartment
- Place your toothbrush inside with the brush head facing downward
- Make sure the bristles are facing outward
- Close the compartment completely
Once closed, the Germ Shield will automatically begin the sanitizing process.
You may see an indicator light turn on, showing that the sanitizing cycle is active.
Removing Your Toothbrush
When you’re ready to use your toothbrush again:
- Open the front compartment
- Remove your toothbrush
That’s it.

Unlike the TAO Clean UV Base, the Germ Shield does not:
