TAO Clean Sonic Toothbrush Care & Cleaning Guide

Keeping your TAO Clean sonic toothbrush clean is simple, and following these care steps will help ensure it continues to work properly and stay sanitary over time.

After Each Use

After each brushing session:

  1. Rinse the brush head thoroughly under water.
  2. Gently tap off any excess water or toothpaste from the bristles.
  3. If you notice any toothpaste or moisture on the sides of the brush or around the top of the handle, wipe it off with a towel or cloth so there’s no excess liquid left behind.

Once everything is clean, place the toothbrush handle upside down into the base.

We recommend docking your toothbrush after every use.

When placed correctly, the base will automatically:

  • Sanitize
  • Dry
  • Charge

your toothbrush so it’s always ready for your next use.

Deep Cleaning the Handle (Every 2–3 Weeks)

Every 2 to 3 weeks, it’s important to give the handle a deeper clean.

Step 1: Remove the Brush Head

Start by removing the brush head from the handle.

Step 2: Rinse the Handle

Use warm or hot water to rinse away any toothpaste residue that may have built up on:

  • The handle
  • The brush head connection point

If residue is still present, use a soft cloth or rag with water to gently wipe the handle clean.

Step 3: Reattach the Brush Head

Once the handle is clean, reattach the brush head by pressing it firmly onto the handle.

There’s no need to twist the brush head on, and twisting could damage the handle.

After reattaching the brush head, place the toothbrush back into the base.

Cleaning the UV Base (Weekly)

About once a week, we recommend cleaning the base itself.

Step 1: Unplug the Base

First, unplug the base from the wall and remove the toothbrush.

Step 2: Wipe the Interior

Using a dry or slightly damp cloth, wipe away any moisture, toothpaste, or residue that may have collected:

  • Inside the base
  • Around the opening

Step 3: Reconnect Power

Once the base is clean:

  1. Plug it back into the wall
  2. Place the toothbrush handle back into the base

Understanding the TAO Clean UV Base

The TAO Clean UV Base does 3 important things for your toothbrush:

  1. Sanitizes your brush head using UV light
  2. Helps dry the brush head between uses
  3. Charges the toothbrush handle

This means you never have to worry about running out of power.

The base needs to remain plugged in at all times in order for these features to work properly.

To power the base:

  1. Plug the charging cord into the back of the base
  2. Connect it to the power brick
  3. Plug it into a wall outlet

When the base is powered on, you’ll see the logo badge light up, indicating it’s working.

Proper Docking Instructions

To dock the toothbrush correctly, always place it brush-head down into the base.

Placing it in any other direction will prevent the toothbrush from charging and sanitizing properly.

When docked correctly, the logo badge will begin to glow and pulse with a flashing blue light.

This indicates that the UV sanitizing cycle is active and working.
