How To Use Your New Makeup Brush Cleaner

As a makeup lover your life just got a lot easier, and we have a few tips to make it even easier.  Here’s how you get pristine brushes without any hiccups.

Note: If you don’t have a makeup brush cleaner from TAO, be sure to grab one here and then follow these easy steps for success.

Place your Makeup Brush Cleaner on a towel.

Keep a towel handy to prevent any messes from wet makeup brushes and to have somewhere to set them to dry.

Insert brushes into holes in the upside-down handle.

Keep in mind to correspond the size of your brush to the size of the hole you’re putting it in. You don’t want your brushes to move around during the cleaning process, so a tighter fit is better.

Line up the brushes

Keep the ferrule (the part that holds the bristles) aligned evenly with the elastic strap, even if the ends of the brushes are different lengths.  Your cleaner is designed to fit the majority of brushes, so odds are, no adjustments are needed.

Strap in the brushes

Once the brushes are in place, wrap the strap around the brush handles so they’re held in tight. If you can pull the brushes out easily or if they fall to the bottom, they may be in the wrong size hole.

Fill the base with warm water and drop in a soap pod.

You don’t need to wait for the pod to dissolve to start the cleaning process, it will dissolve on its own.

Press the button to start the brush cleaning.

The cleaning process only takes a few minutes, so go ahead and check Instagram while you’re waiting.

Remove brushes and rinse and set aside to dry.

If you rinse and your brushes still have some residual makeup leftover, put them through the cleaning process again. This is normal for first time users because we sometimes have months (yuck) of makeup caked on our brushes, but the more you do it the easier it’ll be to maintain their cleanliness. Pro Tip: Once they rinse clean, empty out the base so they can spin the leftover water out of the brushes and then you can sit them out to dry. Don’t lay your brushes flat if they’re still dry because the water can get into the brush ferrule and damage it so always keep them hanging down.

And there you have it, cleaning your makeup brushes is easier, and faster, than ever.  At TAO Clean, our devices take care of themselves, so you have more time to take care of you!
